Public Invited to Paint Mural Celebrating Williamson County and Georgetown’s 175th Birthday

March 6, 2023 (Williamson County, Texas) – Williamson County and the City of Georgetown are inviting the public to help paint a new mural celebrating the county and city’s 175th birthday. The mural by artist Yasaman Mehrsa was selected after an open call for submissions by the City of Georgetown’s Arts and Culture Board and approved by the Williamson County Commissioners Court. The mural will be located on the side of the county’s tax office building, 904 S. Main Street in Georgetown.

The public is invited to help the artist paint the mural on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11, from noon to 4 p.m. No experience is necessary to paint the mural. The mural will be divided into three sections with volunteers assisting public painters.

Following the public painting, artist Yasaman Mehrsa will finish the mural and a dedication ceremony will be held during the Georgetown Spring Arts Stroll on April 20 at 6 p.m.
