Williamson County Breaks Ground on S. Bounds St. Improvements in Thrall

Williamson County’s Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles held a groundbreaking ceremony for the S. Bounds Street improvement project in Thrall on Tuesday, Nov. 9.

The project includes pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements and overlay of the road from US 79 to south of E. Eckhart Avenue in front of the Thrall School building, grades K-12. The design was done by RS&H, and Chasco is the contractor. The project is anticipated to be completed in early 2022. The project cost is $889,988 and is funded through voter-approved 2019 Road Bonds.

“When I ran for county commissioner, one of the things I heard loud from the east side of the county was, ‘don’t let the county forget about us’ – and I took that to heart,” said Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles. “I understood exactly what those communities were telling me. When the Commissioners Court moved forward with a road bond package, I told the other commissioners that I wanted to put projects on there for my communities on the east side of the county. So, I am excited to be starting the first of those community projects.”
