Williamson County and the City of Taylor celebrate the reconstruction of CR 101

Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles and City of Taylor Mayor Brandt Rydell celebrated the kick-off of the reconstruction of CR 101 with a groundbreaking ceremony Monday, June 29.

“One of the best things I can do as a commissioner for a person or for a community is to build or improve a road. This is an important health and safety project for east Williamson County, and I am excited about the opportunities this road will bring for Taylor,” said Commissioner Boles.

The 3.2-mile-long project will include reconstructing the road to create two 12-foot lanes with left turn lanes at the intersections of CR 394/CR368 and Chandler Road with two bridge structures. Brown & Gay Engineering is the design engineer. The contractor that was chosen is James Construction. 

“I am extremely appreciative of Williamson County and how they have been great partners with Taylor as we grow in east Williamson County,” said Mayor Rydell.

Construction is anticipated to be completed in fall 2021, weather permitting. The total cost for the project is $13,092,842 and will be funded with voter-approved road bonds.
