WCRAS is Seeking Homes for 19 Animals After Court Case Ruling, Thanks Community for Support

After the end of the legal process, which resulted in pets being relinquished into the shelter’s care, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) is placing the last of the 41 dogs and cats it received from a single location last month up for adoption. After many of the dogs were reclaimed by their owners, there are now 17 dogs and 2 cats available for adoption of the initial group of 41.

The WCRAS would like to thank the community at large for the tremendous showing of support at a critical time. Because the community stepped up through adopting and fostering, the WCRAS was able to make enough space in its kennels to house the 41 dogs and cats over the past three weeks. Additionally, the dogs that needed a little extra care when they arrived were treated and are now feeling much better.

The shelter is hopeful that the community support will continue with the adoption of the 17 dogs from this case currently in the shelter. If the community helps to get them adopted quickly, then the shelter will clear out an entire adoption room. This would be an astounding accomplishment for a shelter that is currently over capacity with medium to large dogs.

To help these wonderful pets move on to their loving new homes, the shelter is offering Name Your Price adoptions for all medium to large adult dogs and adult cats when you schedule an appointment. Even at Name Your Price, all adopted dogs and cats will receive all age-appropriate vaccinations, registered microchips, and will be spayed or neutered. You can see all of the adoptable pets at wilcopets.org, then email adoption@wilco.org to get started.
