Williamson County Activates COVID-19 Vaccination Plan

Williamson County is activating its COVID-19 vaccination plan this week as it is scheduled to receive 6,000 doses of the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine through its partner Family Hospital Systems (FHS). The County’s vaccination plan targets providing the vaccine to residents who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under the Texas Department of State Health Services’ Phase 1B. The Commissioners Court approved an agreement with FHS during today’s Commissioners Court meeting to administer the COVID-19 per the County’s plan. Family Hospital Systems will begin vaccinating eligible Texans at the Sun City Ballroom, located at 2 Texas Drive in Georgetown, as soon as they receive the vaccine which is expected Wednesday. Vaccinations will be provided through the weekend while supplies last. An appointment will be required before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Williamson County Receives Best Practices Award for its Financial Literacy Program

Williamson County is pleased to share it is the recipient of the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) 2020 County Best Practices Award for its Financial Literacy Program developed by Williamson County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Evelyn McLean. Williamson County was one of six Texas counties to be selected to receive this award.

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, January 18, in observance of the Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day holiday. While County offices are closed, it is highly recommended that residents consider utilizing the online services that are being offered in various departments. Commissioners Court Hears County COVID-19 Vaccination Plan

January 12, 2021, the Williamson County Commissioners Court heard a presentation on a County coordinated COVID-19 vaccination plan which was submitted to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for approval. DSHS is the entity that receives and distributes the COVID-19 vaccines in Texas. Williamson County’s plan would go into effect if the state allocates vaccines to the County for this plan. County Offices Closed Monday, January 11

Williamson County offices will be closed to the public on Monday, January 11, 2021, due to predicted icy road conditions. Residents are encouraged not to drive on the icy roadways unless necessary. Williamson County Road and Bridge crews will be working throughout the night to de-ice bridges and sand roadways. If you must drive, please use caution, reduce speed, and watch for icy patches.
