Williamson County offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in observance of Independence Day. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, 1855 S. E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will be open from noon to 4 p.m. There is no Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday, July 4, or Tuesday, July 11. The next Commissioners Court meeting will take place Monday, July 10, at 8:30 a.m., inside the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street in Georgetown.

As residents prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Williamson County Fire Marshal Special Operations Division would like to remind residents that fireworks are not legal in city limits and 5,000 feet outside of them. Williamson County officials were joined by representatives from the City of Georgetown and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to celebrate the completion of the Southwest Bypass extension as well as the completed improvements to D.B. Wood Road and SH 29 in Georgetown on Friday, June 23. 

The Commissioners Court meeting for Tuesday, June 20, 2023, has been canceled. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 27, at 9:30 a.m. in the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown. 

Williamson County offices will be closed Monday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. All county operations will resume regular hours on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
