WCCHD Transitions to CDC Data Tracker for Community Transmission Phases

Effective Nov. 15, Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD) will be using the CDC Data Tracker for determining Gating Phases in Williamson County.  The Phases are used to inform the public of the COVID-19 community transmission risk. The Data Tracker site (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view) provides an integrated, standardized view of key data for monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic in Williamson and the surrounding counties, and across the United States. According to the CDC Data Tracker, Williamson County is in the Orange or Substantial phase.

Tree of Angels Ceremony Dec. 6

The Williamson County community is invited to join the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office for the lighting of the 9th Annual Tree of Angels to honor victims of violent crime. The ceremony takes place on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at 6 p.m. in the historic Williamson county courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Texas, in the 26th District Courtroom. This moving ceremony allows the community to remember families whose lives have forever been touched by violent crime. Families, survivors of a violent crime, families with missing loved one and friends of a victim are invited to bring an angel ornament to place on this special tree.

Williamson County Commissioners Court Approves Redistricting Map

The Williamson County Commissioners Court approved a new redistricting map for Justices of the Peace, Constables and Commissioners precincts. Counties are required to review the new census data to ensure the population is evenly distributed every ten years. Next, the Williamson County Commissioners Court will change boundary lines of county election or voter precincts. In order to meet deadlines associated with the March 1, 2022, primary election, all commissioners courts must approve boundary line changes to election precincts no later than Dec. 30, 2021. Changes will take effect for elections on Jan. 1, 2022. The view the new map, go to www.wilco.org/redistricting2021.
