Jason Brown Named General Manager of Williamson County Expo Center

Jason Brown has been named the new general manager of the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor. Brown has been serving for the past three years as the assistant general manager for the Expo Center, where he gained valuable knowledge and experience in the operation and management of this growing and popular venue. Brown attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics.  Before finding his way to Williamson County, he spent several years in land operations in the oil and gas industry.

Portion of Brushy Creek Regional Trail to Close for Bridge Construction

Williamson County’s contractor Denucci Constructors is beginning work on the Great Oaks Drive Bridge project. For safety, the Brushy Creek Regional Trail near the project area will be closed starting as early as Sunday, Nov. 14, for approximately nine months. To view the closure map, click here. The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo will make its inaugural debut October 21 to 23, 2021, at the Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, in Taylor, Texas. Every night, enjoy carnival rides, games, pig races, petting zoo, food and music. Friday and Saturday feature the rodeo and special entertainment. Williamson County Learn to Fish Event is October 9, 2021

Williamson County is hosting its annual Learn to Fish Day in the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, located at 3005 CR 175, Leander, Texas on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 8 a.m. to noon.  Children of all ages will be able to spend time learning various fishing tips and techniques from local experts.  The Learn to Fish Day event is free and open to the public. Williamson County’s Learn to Fish Day is funded through the donations of private individuals and corporations.  For more information, please contact the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department at 512-943-1920 or the office of Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long at 512-260-4280.
