Williamson County Offices Closed Thursday and Friday Due to Winter Weather Conditions

Williamson County offices will be closed on Thursday, February 3, and Friday, February 4, due to forecasted severe winter weather in the region.

County Judge Bill Gravell signed a local disaster declaration due to the imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from severe winter weather conditions. The declaration will end at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4. View the declaration here. Governor Greg Abbott issued a Disaster Declaration for 17 counties, including Williamson County, for the winter weather response. Read that media release here.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, for the region, including Williamson County, where icing and travel impacts are most likely to occur. Williamson County is not under a burn ban. The Order Declaring a Local State of Disaster for Williamson County expired on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 5 p.m. Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity.  Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219.
