Ribbon Cutting for Ronald Reagan Blvd. at Santa Rita Blvd.

Williamson County officials and representatives from Santa Rita Ranch held a ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of turn lanes on Ronald Reagan Boulevard to Santa Rita Boulevard on February 7. The project consisted of widening the pavement on Ronald Reagan Boulevard from approximately 1,000 feet south of Santa Rita Boulevard to 700 feet north of the intersection. Both left turn and right turn lanes were striped on Ronald Reagan Boulevard into Santa Rita Boulevard.

“We do some big projects and some that are not as expensive but make a big difference. This is a huge safety improvement thanks to the generosity of Ed and Elizabeth Horne, and it was constructed in rapid fashion by Joe Bland Construction,” stated Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long.

“When we began Santa Rita Ranch in 2014, Ronald Reagan Boulevard had very few cars on it,” said Santa Rita developer Ed Horne. “Today, Ronald Reagan is a major thoroughfare for trucks and large equipment, so this project will save lives.”

The project was designed by Williamson County Road and Bridge Division and was constructed by Joe Bland Construction in three months. The project was funded in partnership with Ed and Elizabeth Horne of Santa Rita Ranch and Williamson County voter approved road bonds.
