    Notice of Meeting of the Fire Commissioners of Williamson County Emergency Services District #8

    The Board of Fire Commissioners of Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 will meet on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 6:00p.m. at 3500 D B Wood Road, Public Safety Operations and Training Center, Georgetown, Texas.     Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 Board Members: Bobby Bunte, Bennie Piper, Troy Rodriguez and Ira Wood.

    Call to Order

    Board may, at any time, recess the Regular Session to convene in Executive Session at the request of the Chair, Board Member, or legal counsel for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551, and are subject to action in the Regular Session that follows.

    1. Public Comment.
    2. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular Session Meeting held on January 15, 2020.
    3. Presentation of the monthly Treasurer’s report and payment of bills by Ron Barrick.
    4. Reconstitution of the Board.
    5. Discussion and possible action to determine if there is support or interest in serving some unincorporated areas outside of Leander.
    6. Monthly presentation, report(s) and updates by City of Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan.

Georgetown Field of Honor

The Georgetown Field of Honor will take place November 8 through 17 in San Gabriel Park on the Activity Field in Georgetown. In its third year, the Rotary Club of Georgetown’s signature event will present over 1,500 flags. Each flag is available for purchase and dedication in honor of a veteran, active or reserve duty military individual or first responder.  The exciting events held throughout the week at the Field of Honor® are free and are open to the public! Saturday, November 9, is the 2nd Annual Honor Walk 5K sponored by Sertoma. It begins at 8 a.m. at the Field of Honor. Then Sunday, November 10, are opening ceremonies from 2 to 3:15 p.m. All day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy the Veterans and First Responder Resource Expo with fabulous static displays from Fort Hood, Camp Mabry, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Services. Go to georgetowntxfieldofhonor.org for more information.
