    U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Comes to Historic Courthouse

    The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will make a stop in Georgetown on November 17 on its way to Washington, D.C., from Carson National Forest in New Mexico. The tree will be parked on Main Street between Seventh and Eighth streets in front of the historic County Courthouse from 4-5 p.m. To celebrate, the City is hosting U.S. Capitol Tree Day in Georgetown on the Square from 2-5 p.m. During the event, visitors will be able to meet Santa Claus and his two reindeer with his antique sleigh, participate in children’s crafts, and purchase U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree merchandise and Georgetown collectible ornaments.

    Notice of Regional Healthcare Partnership 8 Public Meeting

    Regional Healthcare Partnership (RHP) 8, a nine-county region formed under the Texas Transformation & Quality Improvement Program (also known as the Texas 1115 Medicaid Waiver), is holding the second and final public stakeholder forum – via Zoom Webinar (see link below) – on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Round Rock, Williamson County, Texas, to review the updated Regional Healthcare Partnership 8 Plan for demonstration years 9 and 10 of the Texas 1115 Medicaid Waiver.

    All interested stakeholders residing in the region are invited to connect to the forum and provide public comment and feedback on the plan. We strongly encourage participation by key stakeholder groups to include intergovernmental transfer entities, eligible performing providers, and community health care partners.

    Lighting of the Square

    On Friday, November 29, kick-off the holiday season with our annual Lighting of the Square, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving! Sing along with the Austin Carolers to your favorite holiday tunes! Join Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell and Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross as we help Santa countdown and flip on the holiday lights on The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas! Williamson County Brown Santa will offer pictures with Santa inside the courthouse following the lighting for a donation to Brown Santa. The downtown shops will be open late, so plan to get in some unique holiday shopping. This is a free event. The downtown holiday lights will come on every evening around 5:30 p.m. through December 31.
