County Offices Closed Memorial Day

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.  All county operations will resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will be open regular hours on Monday from noon to 6 p.m. The shelter is offering free adoptions to all adult dogs and cats May 27 to 29, 2017. Williamson County Veterans Services has posted a listing of Memorial Day services and special offers for veterans on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wilcovets including the following:

May Child Seat Inspection Events
Williamson County Emergency Medical Services will be working in conjunction with local partners to conduct two child safety seat inspections in May. The first is May 12, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Georgetown at The Learning Experience. The second is May 15, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taylor.  The inspection events are offered at no cost to participants and are available by appointment only.

"Leave No Trace Training for Williamson County Preserves" May 23

The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering another “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.  The next training will be held on Tuesday, May 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Williamson County Central Maintenance Facility training room, 3151 S.E. Inner Loop, in Georgetown. To reserve a spot in the class, send an email to [email protected] and include "LNT" in the subject line.

Brushy Creek Regional Trail Now Open Following Bridge Upgrades
The portion of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail that was temporarily closed due to upgrades to the railroad bridge by Capital Metro is now open. Trail patrons once again can traverse the trail between Brushy Creek Sports Park and the 183A Trailhead. We thank you for your cooperation and patience while the work was being completed.

Take Back Unused and Expired Medications April 29
To prevent opioid abuse and accidental overdose, on April 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to dispose controlled and over-the-counter expired and unused prescription drugs. It’s free, safe and convenient. Drive-in, drop-off, no questions asked at seven convenient locations.
