Williamson County to Host Career Fair on March 3

For job seekers looking for a meaningful career working to help their community, Williamson County is hosting a career fair on Thursday, March 3, from noon to 6 p.m. The event will take place at the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, located at 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown. Physical resumes will not be required at this event, as there will be several computers available on-site for use to apply for the current openings. Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center Breaks Ground on Expansion

The Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center (WCCAC) was joined by more than 100 guests as they celebrated breaking ground on the addition of a new 15,000 square foot building. The addition is location at 1811 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown. The addition will include crisis services, forensic interviews, family advocacy and a multi-disciplinary hub. City of Austin Issues Boil Water Notice, Williamson County Opens Water Distribution Center

The City of Austin issued a citywide boil water notice which was lifted February 8. A citywide boil water notice has been issued due to an internal process issue at the Ullrich Water Treatment Plant. Customers should boil tap water vigorously for at least two minutes prior to using it for drinking or cooking. Williamson County will operate a water distribution center at Kelly Reeves Athletic Stadium, 10211 W Parmer Ln, Austin, TX 78717, on Monday, February 7, and Tuesday, February 8, from noon to 8 p.m. The limit is two cases per vehicle until supplies run out. Williamson County Responds to Winter Storm Landon

Icy roadways and freezing temperatures may have closed county offices, but Williamson County emergency responders and essential employees continued to work keeping residents safe. Williamson County Emergency Communications had 201 calls for service on Thursday. There were 30 fire calls, 84 law enforcement calls and 87 calls for EMS. The Sheriff’s Office responded to a few crashes caused by icy roads. Williamson County responders will continue to monitor conditions and roadways through the rest of today and Saturday morning. The county’s local disaster declaration will end at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4.
