Blackland Hills Gun Works In Hutto Burglarized

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, at approximately 4:20 a.m., deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an alarm activation at the Blackland Hills Gun Works in Hutto, TX. Upon arrival, responding deputies found the front window broken. Approximately 10 – 15 shotguns and rifles were stolen.

Surveillance footage shows six individuals wearing masks and gloves forcing entering into the building.

The suspects were in a stolen vehicle. Deputies found the stolen vehicle half a mile away from the gun store on FM 3349. When deputies located the vehicle it was still running and the driver’s side door was open.

Detectives with the Williamson County Sheriff’s office are actively investigating the crime.

Williamson County Deputy Saves 5 Year Old From Potentially Drowning

On Aug. 10 at approximately 9 p.m. Detective Albert Ortiz was dispatched to the Teravista Subdivision swimming pool in Round Rock for a possible drowning. When Det. Ortiz arrived on scene, he observed a 5-year-old girl lying on her back, she was responsive, but appeared as though she was having difficulty breathing. Det. Ortiz immediately observed that the child’s airway was being obstructed by vomit. At this point, Det. Ortiz instantly rolled the 5-year-old on her side and cleared the obstruction from her mouth. The child immediately vomited and the airway appeared to open up.

EMS arrived a couple minutes later, provided additional medical assistance and transported the child to St. David’s Hospital. The 5-year-old was release from the hospital the next day without any complications.

“Detective Ortiz’ actions are a great example of the type of Heroes we have at the SO. In addition, there are two citizen who left the scene who were instrumental in saving this young girl’s life. We would love to identify them”, said Sheriff Chody.

Williamson County Sheriff's Office is Asking The Public's Assistance To Identify Two Suspects

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, at approximately 3:30 a.m., two unknown suspects forced entry into Blackland Gun Works in Hutto, TX.

Upon entry, the suspects broke into the Glock gun case removing an unnamed number of Glock pistols. The suspects did not make any attempt to enter other gun cases and immediately left the building.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance to identify the suspects. Please contact Detective Foiles at 512-943-1354 with any information.

WilCo Animal Control – Animal Seizure

On Wednesday March 22nd at approximately 10:40am, Wilco Animal Control seized 89 cats and 1 dog from R.U.G Activity Center Animal Shelter located at 383 FM 970, Florence, TX. Wilco Animal Control initiated an animal cruelty investigation after receiving a complaint from The Texas Department of State Health Services. The animals were transferred to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter at approximately 2:40pm today. The animals are currently being evaluated. Their condition is unknown at the moment.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Williamson County Animal Control Unit.

Death Investigation of a Child

On Monday, March 20th at approximately 10:55 am, deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3907 Monument Drive in Round, Rock, TX on a possible drowning. When deputies arrived at the location, they observed medics loading a four year old child into an ambulance. EMS transported the Child to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas where he was pronounced deceased. Deputies identified the child as Alister James Hyder.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation and will provide more details as soon as they become available.
