Groundbreaking for Seward Junction Improvements

April 30, 2019 (Williamson County, TX) – Williamson County and City of Liberty Hill officials broke ground Monday on improvements for a southern loop around Seward Junction. The project will construct a new two-lane roadway in the ultimate right-of-way for a six-lane divided facility in the future.

The project is divided into two sections. The Seward Junction Southeast project goes from US 183 at CR 259 to SH 29 at CR 266. The project was designed by Aguirre & Fields, and the contractor is Jordan Foster. The Seward Junction Southwest project goes from SH 29 at CR 213 to US 183 at CR 259. The project was designed by K Friese, and the contractor is Jordan Foster.

“The Seward Junction Improvement Project is a very significant project for the county as it will ultimately be a continuation of roads around the entire Seward Junction area,” said Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long. “As we continue to grow in the western portion of the county, it is incredibly important for alleviating traffic and for improving safety throughout the SH 29 and 183 area.”

Both sections are anticipated to be completed in early 2021.
