Central Maintenance Facility Offices Closed to the Public Oct. 23

On Wednesday, October 23, the Williamson County Central Maintenance Facility including the County Engineer’s Office, OSSF, Floodplain Management, Fleet Services and Road and Bridge as well as the North Campus which includes EMS, Wireless Communications and Sheriff’s Office impound yard will be without power in the morning between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Central Maintenance Facility offices will be closed to the public during this time and will reopen for public business after lunch at 1 p.m. The North Campus offices will be open, but will be limited in what duties they can perform during the outage. Phones will be out of service.

Early Voting Begins Oct. 21

Early voting for the November 5, 2019, General Election begins on Monday, October 21.  Early voting is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday, October 21, through Wednesday, October 30. There is no voting on Sunday. Early voting continues Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During early voting, registered voters are allowed to vote at any polling location in Williamson County. The early voting schedule is posted on the Elections website at www.wilco.org/elections .

Burn Ban Lifted October 14

County Judge Bill Gravell has lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County today, Monday, October 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. View the order lifting the burn ban here. Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity.  Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219.

District Clerk Announces Jury Duty Cancellation for Nov. 8

The Williamson County District Clerk announced jury duty cancellation for Friday, November 8, 2019. All persons receiving a jury summons to appear Friday, November 8, at the Justice Center, 405 MLK, in Georgetown, do not need to appear. This jury panel has been canceled.

Commissioners Court Adopts Budget and Lowers Tax Rate

The Williamson County Commissioners Court adopted their overall budget for FY 2019-2020 of $393,843,886. The budget funds 41 new employees including 15 for public safety which includes EMS, Emergency Services, and Sheriff’s Office both Law Enforcement and Corrections. With River Ranch County Park opening in 2020, the budget also funds six new employees for the Parks and Recreation Department. In addition, there are funds for seven new employees for the Information Technology Department and three employees for Facilities. Also included in the budget is an increase to the Emergency Communications budget for compensation and training. The overall county tax rate for tax year 2019 was reduced to $0.458719 per $100 valuation.
