Mission
The mission of Williamson County Pretrial Services is to enhance public safety, contribute to the effective administration of justice, and uphold the Constitution and Laws of the United States and the State of Texas.
 
Vision
Williamson County Pretrial Services’ vision is to serve as a leader in the justice system locally and statewide by promoting a culture of accountability and innovation, and through attracting, developing, and retaining an effective team of professionals committed to our mission, guiding principles, and goals. 
 
Current Key Functions
  • Administrative support to the Magistrate Court
  • Oversight of Cite and Release process
  • Oversight of Emergency Protective Order Modifications
  • Administrative support to Courts for alcohol monitoring ordered as a condition of release
  • Management of Indigent Defense appointments
 
Future Organizational Goals
  • Interview, prior to Magistration, individuals arrested on local charges.
  • Provide accurate risk and financial screening results and appropriate pretrial release recommendations rooted in best practices to support judicial bail decision-making.
  • Manage the bail process in a way that reduces unnecessary detention through facilitating release under the least restrictive conditions that will assure community safety and court appearance.
  • Provide Court Date Reminders to all defendants released on Personal Bond as a means of assuring court appearance.
