COVID-19 Vaccination Information
 

Residents wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will schedule an appointment directly with the provider of their choice. The County no longer manages a waitlist. The County's Call Center and Vaccine Registration Technical Assistance centers closed effective May 1, 2021.

Homebound Texans can call 844-90-TEXAS and select Option 1 to request a state mobile vaccination team to visit their home. Read more.

COVID-19 Testing

Residential households in the U.S. can order one set of 4 free at-home tests from USPS.com. Here’s what you need to know about your order:

  • Limit of one order per residential address
  • One order includes 4 individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests
  • Orders will ship free starting in late January
  • To order your kits, go to https://www.covidtests.gov/

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that is spreading from person to person in parts of the United States. The risk of infection with COVID-19 is higher for people who are close contacts of someone known to have COVID-19, for example healthcare workers, or household members. Other people at higher risk for infection are those who live in or have recently been in an area with an ongoing spread of COVID-19.

Williamson County & Cities Health District is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation in coordination with the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local and regional public health and healthcare agencies.

If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic, help is available. Call the toll-free Texas Health and Human Services COVID-19 Mental Health Support Line at 833-986-1919 to speak with a mental health professional 24/7.

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter Takes in Another 11 Cats from a Single Location

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS), in collaboration with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), has assisted an elderly
citizen with another owner surrender of 11 felines from the home, with more expected to come. This comes just two weeks after assisting with another owner surrender of 45 cats from a home in Round Rock. The case is an ongoing effort in cooperation with the WCSO and details are still emerging. We will update the public with new information as it becomes available.

Of the 45 cats taken in earlier in January, 15 have been either adopted or transferred to a rescue organization, leaving 21 cats available for adoption, some of whom are free to adopt through the shelter’s Adoption Angel program thanks to a generous owner. The remainder continue to be assessed as they settle into their new environment. 
 
The community can help the shelter with this additional strain on its resources through adoption, fostering, and/or donating. To adopt, email adoption@wilco.org to schedule an appointment. To foster, submit the Foster Application found at http://pets.wilco.org/How-to-Help. Needed donations include pine litter, cardboard litter trays, Science Diet adult cat kibble, canned cat food and Catego and may be dropped off at the shelter’s Services Center at 1855 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown.
