Williamson County's Vaccination Plan

Williamson County with its partner Family Hospital Systems is opening COVID-19 vaccination sites in Williamson County! The County's COVID-19 vaccination plan is focused on providing vaccines for the State's priority of Phase 1b: those 65 and older and those 16 and older with at least one chronic medical condition.

Family Hospital Systems will begin vaccinating eligible Texans at the Sun City Ballroom, located at 2 Texas Drive in Georgetown, starting January 20. Vaccinations will be provided through the weekend while supplies last. An appointment will be required before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

To register for the Sun City site, please visit https://familyhospitalssytems.typeform.com/to/NnnrXftS.

In addition, FHS will be vaccinating people starting January 20 from their waitlist at a drive-thru site at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, 10211 W Parmer Lane. You must be on the FHS waitlist in order to be contacted for an appointment at that site. Drive-up appointments will not be accepted. Registration for the FHS waitlist is available here

We encourage all residents to use any option to obtain your first dose of vaccine from any approved entity offering it.

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that is spreading from person to person in parts of the United States. The risk of infection with COVID-19 is higher for people who are close contacts of someone known to have COVID-19, for example healthcare workers, or household members. Other people at higher risk for infection are those who live in or have recently been in an area with an ongoing spread of COVID-19.

Williamson County & Cities Health District is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation in coordination with the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local and regional public health and healthcare agencies.

If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic, help is available. Call the toll-free Texas Health and Human Services COVID-19 Mental Health Support Line at 833-986-1919 to speak with a mental health professional 24/7.

Family Emergency Room Opens COVID-19 Testing to Non-Symptomatic

Starting Wednesday, May 13, Williamson County and Family Emergency Room will allow individuals who wish to be tested for COVID-19, but are not experiencing symptoms, to be tested. Family Emergency Room is conducting COVID-19 tests by appointment free of charge at its facilities in Cedar Park and Round Rock. Residents must go to www.wilco.org/coronavirus to fill out the form first. Schedulers contact patients Monday through Friday; however, appointments are available seven days a week.

“Having more people tested is an important step to being able to track the spread of COVID-19,” said Williamson County Commissioner Cynthia Long. “We appreciate that our partners at Family Emergency Room have the capacity to open up testing to more individuals who wish to be tested.”

On April 27, the Williamson County Commissioners Court agreed to provide COVID-19 tests and personal protection equipment (PPE) to Family Emergency Room, which will be administering the testing services at no cost to the county or the public.  Williamson County residents can then be tested at either 3620 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park; or 1925 A.W. Grimes Blvd, Round Rock.

Family Emergency Room has six locations throughout Greater Austin, including Cedar Park and Round Rock.  The Brushy Creek location is a fully operational hospital, complete with trauma and injury care, onsite imaging and lab processing, and a 24/7 Certified Impact Concussion Center.  Family Emergency Room is a longtime trusted community partner, having previously volunteered services in sports medicine and providing health screenings.
