Williamson County Magistrate Judges serve as Associate Judges at the direction of the District and County Judges of Williamson County under the Standing Referral Order Pursuant to Title 2, Subtitle D, Chapter 54A of the Government Code.
The primary responsibilities of the Magistrate Judges are to determine probable cause, read the defendant their rights, and issue warrants in criminal cases. The Magistrate may also set, issue, and enforce bail conditions.
The Magistrate judge does not determine guilt or innocence in criminal cases.
