CR 245
Location North of RM 2338 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard
Description   The CR 245 project consists of the reconstruction of the existing two-lane CR 245 to an interim three-lane roadway, with a center turn lane and right turn lanes at specific locations. The three-lane interim roadway will be part of the future ultimate six-lane roadway. The CR 245 project was funded through the voter-approved 2019 Road Bond and is meant to improve mobility around Georgetown and Sun City. The engineering firm for the project is Bridgefarmer & Associates, Inc.
Status Design was completed in summer 2022 by Bridgefarmer. Joe Bland is the contractor, and a groundbreaking was held Jan. 20. Construction is anticipated to be complete in spring 2024.
ROAD CLOSURE: Starting Thursday, April 27, Williamson County's contractor Joe Bland Construction will close CR 245 from Ronald Reagan Boulevard south to Smokestack Lane. Williamson County’s Contractor Joe Bland closed CR 245 to thru-traffic on Monday, March 6, 2023, from Smokestack Lane to Hartford Road. This extended closure will be in place until approximately September to construct a bridge across Cowan Creek. This change to the existing detour will save time on the overall projects, avoid multiple lane shifts for the traveling public and save taxpayer dollars. Please see detour route for traffic.
