Quotation Marks:
|
Use quotation marks to only return exact strings.
"paint and clean" will only return results that have those three words together.
|
Operands:
|
Use capitalized operators for more effective searching (OR, AND, NOT etc...).
paint AND clean returns results where both words are present, but not necessarily together.
paint OR clean returns results with both "paint" and "clean" as well as results containing only "paint" or "clean".
paint NOT clean returns results with "paint" only if clean is not included. Any results with "clean" will be ommitted wheter they have "paint" in them or not.
|
Wild Cards:
|
(?*)Wildcards allow you to search for part of a word
paint* returns results for paint, paints, painting etc... (anything that starts with paint)
appl? returns only words staring with appl, but not appl (e.g. apple, apply, etc...). The "?" applies for only one letter. Multiple ?'s work for multiple wildcard letters.
