The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, joined by local agencies and organizations, is hosting a security summit to address the need of places of worship in and around the Williamson County area. The summit will present attendees with free training designed to educate citizens on “Active Shooter Events” as well as recommended response options before and during an event.
Currently, there are over 120 churches registered for the summit.
The summit will be on Nov. 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Celebration Church, 601 Westinghouse Rd. in Georgetown.
There will be a designated area for media outlets who wish to cover the event. Media will not be allowed inside the training room at any point during the session. Names of the churches registered for the summit will not be released. Sheriff Chody will be available for comment after the summit.
