Hutto Police partner with county, state and federal agencies on major seizure

Hutto Police Department Street Crimes Unit along with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, FBI, ATF, and Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission conducted a search warrant within the city limits of Hutto today in the 100 block of Pecan Street. During the execution of the search warrant a sizeable amount of methamphetamine and cocaine were seized.

The Hutto investigators recovered 21 rifles and handguns, one of which was reported stolen in 1999. During the course of the search, a box trailer with altered vehicle identification information was also seized.

Hutto Police Department involved Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission due to an illegal alcohol distillery located in the premises to assist with dismantling the device.

Explosive making materials including Molotov cocktails and pipe bombs were located along with several weapons staged throughout the residence in a defensive posture.

Two occupants of the residence were arrested for manufacture /delivery of a controlled substance PG 1 and other charges are pending the conclusion of the investigation.

This investigation began after complaints were received from vigilant concerned citizens. “The citizens of Hutto are not going to tolerate this kind of behavior,” said City Manager Odis Jones.

“Chief Frankland has brought tenured police officers and advanced investigation units to Hutto — he and his team are doing a fabulous job of keeping Hutto a safe community as we grow,” added Jones.

Chief Frankland said, “I am really proud of our Officers and the Hutto Police department for the hard work they and our partners in law enforcement have been putting in both on this investigation and in keeping these kinds of drugs and weapons off of our streets.“
