Williamson County Gives Final Update on COVID-19 Vaccinations

Four months ago, Williamson County began vaccinating the public through partnerships with Curative and Family Hospital Systems (FHS). Including vaccinations of first responders and front-line healthcare workers, the Texas Department of State Health Services reports that 406,836 doses have been administered in the county and approximately 56.6% of adults 16 and older have received their first shot. More than 83% of those age 65 and over have been vaccinated with at least one dose. In an effort to assist people with their vaccine registration who work during the day, the Vaccine Registration Technical Assistance (VRTA) center at First United Methodist Church Georgetown in the McKinney Christian Ministry Center, 1205 Ash Street, in Georgetown, will offer evening hours on Tuesday, April 27, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. A list of VRTA centers and operating hours can be found at www.wilco.org/coronavirus. April 30, 2021, will be the final day that VRTA sites and the County's call center at 512-943-1600 will be open to assist the public. 

Certificate of Compliance Process Now Online in Williamson County

Williamson County has moved its process to obtain a Certificate of Compliance online through www.MyGovernmentOnline.org. If you live in the unincorporated areas of Williamson County, a Certificate of Compliance is required to develop, build or grade on property that is outside of a FEMA-mapped or local floodplain. Williamson County is no longer accepting names on its COVID-19 vaccine waitlist. The County sent the names of people remaining on its waitlist to their mass vaccine provider Curative to schedule their vaccination appointment. If you have not received an email for an appointment, residents wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should schedule directly with the provider of their choice. Williamson County Extends the Due Date to Apply for Small Business Grant

In Williamson County, as of April 14, 166 applications were received for COVID-19 relief money through the Wilco Forward Phase 2 program, with 144 applications approved for a total of $979,000 distributed. Of the remaining 22 applications not yet approved, 8 are in progress and 14 were denied. In an effort to encourage more businesses to apply for a Wilco Forward grant, the application deadline has been extended to April 30, 2021. The Wilco Forward program is financed with CARES Act funds and offers financial assistance to food services such as restaurants, food trucks and caterers, bars, and hotels/motels that were financially impacted due to closures and occupancy restrictions due to COVID-19. In Wilco Forward Phase 2, a business can receive up to $500 per employee with a maximum amount of $10,000 if eligible. Businesses will need to provide documentation that they are eligible for the program and have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
