            Tribute to Firestone

Summer of 2018 anticipating vacation

Driving to NC, needing alignment configuration.

Sought out Firestone, close to my neighborhood

Got Saturday appointment, gonna be all good, then

Oops those tie rod ends – over 18 years, showing age,

But that’s no problem for those pros to manage.

It’s just money – never replaced I didn’t mind.

Parts were ordered, installed, van aligned, but

Whoops, up on the lift those current tires, iffy for 2400-mile trip.

No time to replace this day but lucky me, Sunday there’s a bit.

Squeezed me in – what a shop for the working woman & man!

Got those All-Season radials, looking sharp on my old van.

Left the next week in that Sienna of 273,378 miles.

No trepidation, trusted vehicle, faith in my tires.

Smooth on the state highways, interstates, roads, - quiet as can be.

Got to my blessed NC beach – beach gear, sister and me.

Commissioner Cook stands at the podium reciting her poem. Commissioner Cook joins several local officials and business leaders for the cutting of the ribbon outside the Firestone building.Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan offers welcoming remarks at the podium.
