Commissioner Cook Encourages School Supplies Donations to County Juvenile Services

Williamson County Juvenile Services is holding a Back-to-School Supply Drive for local students in need. Supplies needed include backpacks, pens, pencils, spiral paper, loose leaf paper, subject folders with three clasps, markers, crayons, safety scissors, rulers with metric measurements, used computers that can connect to the internet, and gift cards.

Donations will be accepted through the month of August at Williamson County Juvenile Services, located at 200 Wilco Way in Georgetown, or by calling Brooke Hall at 512-943-3223 to arrange a pick-up.

On July 28, 2020, the Williamson County Fair Association announced the rescheduling of the Inaugural Williamson County Fair and Rodeo from Oct. 22-24, 2020 to Oct. 21-23, 2021.

Scott Heselmeyer, president of the association, along with the board of directors, said they made this decision as a responsible course of action for the community, volunteers and sponsors. However, the association will continue planing a youth livestock show and a scholarship program for the fall. More details on these programs will be released in the future.

The Texas Department of Transportation announced July 6 that the virtual public hearing to review proposed improvements on US 79 from I-35 to east of FM 1460 in Williamson County starting on Thursday, July 9 has been postponed. They will provide further notice when the meeting has been rescheduled.
