Commissioner Cook delivers some remarks at the podium under a carp at the RM 620 Roundabout site and then recites her poem.

With a Litle Help from My Friends

Based on Beatles' song "A Little Help From My Friends"

What will they think of our shoot for the moon?
Will they blame you or walk in on me?
Lend me your ears as I urge you along,
And try to be heroes for us three.

Oh, we’ll suffer through the mass of traffic it sends
Mm, suck it up as project delay portends
Mm, we’ll get by until the needed mission ends

What do we do with commutes in the way?
Would be so great to be all alone.
How much more done by the end of the day?
Aren’t you glad utilities are gone?

Oh, you’ll suffer through with all the traffic it sends.
Mm, still sucking up as project delay portends.
Mm, you’ll survive until the needed project ends.

Mommas, Do Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Tradesmen

(Mommas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys)

Thanks to Willie Nelson & Waylon Jennings

College ain’t easy to pay for; real jobs hard to find

for those in liberal arts just to feed their mind.

Deep college debt with minimum wage just block them

          from finding their way.

Life with three roommates, credit card debt, ramen soup,

          working that long endless day.

Momma’s don’t let your babies grow up without options.

Don’t let ’em ignore those industrial fits,

Technical careers with good benefits.

Mommas don’t let your babies grow up without futures

‘Cause they’ll never return to live at your home, but

Come ‘cause you’re someone they love.

Workforce trade jobs open futures anywhere in the
          world.

So many careers for workers with futures in sight.

Employers now compete for them

and those with offers ponder which are best for ’em.

They ain’t wrong deciding that trade jobs are best fit,

dilemma is which for them is right.

Commissioner Cook stands in front of the blue Firestone monster truck that is now retired.

FIRESTONE – ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW (poem by Commissioner Cook)

We all depend on our cars and require them.

We procrastinate on their maintenance until when

they wheeze, they shudder, they stop … or not.

Then panic ensues, as we ponder “to do’s” of where and when to shop.

Where will I take it; will my budget survive the hit?

Whenever can I go without it? How long at home will I sit?
