Williamson County Holiday Hours

Williamson County offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on December 24 and 25, 2019, as well as on January 1, 2020, for the New Year’s holiday. The Commissioners Court will not meet December 24 or 31, 2019. The first regularly scheduled meeting of 2020 will be on Tuesday, January 7 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will be open Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on Christmas Day, and will be open New Year’s Eve 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed New Year’s Day, except for stray intake only.

County Breaks Ground on River Ranch County Park Interpretive Center

Williamson County broke ground December 11, 2019, on an interpretive center for River Ranch County Park. The center is being funded with a $750,000 grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife and voter approved park bonds for a cost of approximately $1.9 million. The interpretive center is slated to open in fall 2020.

Each year, hundreds of Williamson County FFA and 4-H members participate in the Williamson County Livestock Show & Youth Fair, December 2 to 7, 2019, at the Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, Taylor.
