Tax Statements to be Mailed the Week of October 16, 2017
Property Tax statements will be mailed the week of October 16, 2017, according to Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector Larry Gaddes. The County Tax Assessor/Collector's Office sends out tax bills on behalf of over 100 taxing entities in Williamson County.  If your taxes are escrowed, the statement will be mailed to your lender. Taxes may be paid by mail, online at www.wilco.org/propertytax/ or in person at any of the four tax office locations in Williamson County:
Georgetown Tax Office, 904 S. Main St.
Round Rock Tax Office, 1801 E. Old Settlers Blvd. (drive thru available)
Cedar Park Tax Office, 350 Discovery Blvd. (Currently under remodel)
Taylor Tax Office, 412 Vance St.

Property owners can apply for a homestead, Over 65 and other exemptions and receive a discount on the property taxes of their primary residence as of January 1 of each year. Anyone that is needing to apply online or is unsure whether they already have an exemption on file can look up their status by name, address, or account number on the Williamson Central Appraisal District site at www.wcad.org . If you have a question about your exemptions, you can contact the Appraisal District at 512-930-3787.  Notice: Applications for exemptions can be filed for no charge. Do not pay a person or company to file for you.

Williamson County, all school districts and the cities of Cedar Park, Florence, Georgetown, Jarrell, Leander, and Liberty Hill also offer seniors age 65 and older, disabled persons and disabled veterans a tax freeze ceiling. Under the tax freeze ceiling, the tax amounts for these taxing units are frozen for their homesteaded property effective January 1st of the year they qualify. Property owners can benefit from the state's homestead exemption.

The Williamson Central Appraisal District is supported by and represents all of the taxing entities in this county.  They send out appraisal value notices to property owner in April.  Owners are given a period of time from that point to protest their values. The taxing jurisdictions (entities) set their rates in August/September based on these values and their budgetary needs.  The Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector mails statements in October.

A copy of your statement and property tax information can be found on the County Tax Assessor/Collector's  site at www.wilco.org/propertytax/ or by calling 512-943-1603, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  For questions concerning your property value, visit the Williamson Central Appraisal District's website at www.wcad.org .
