Williamson County Fire Code

The Williamson County Commissioners Court adopted the 2018 IFC effective November 17, 2020. This code applies to unincorporated Williamson County only. The purpose of this code is to provide minimum requirements, with due regard to function, for the design and construction or substantial improvement of public buildings, commercial establishments, and multi-family residential dwellings consisting of four or more units, to reduce the risk to life and property from fire. The Williamson County Fire Marshal's office is tasked with the administration of the adopted IFC and works closely with the Williamson County Engineering department on commercial construction projects in the unincorporated portions of Williamson County. Our process includes:

  • A comprehensive non-structural architectural plan review
  • A detailed review of fire protection plans
  • Permitting the development as well as fire protection systems
  • A diligent and detailed inspection program, performed by the Williamson County Fire Marshal's office

Williamson County will utilize the 2018 International Fire Code, related Local Amendments and the Williamson County Fire Code

Keeping your home safe!

June is National Safety Month

June was declared National Safety Month by the National Safety Council in 1996 to make strides in reducing the leading causes of unintentional injury and death at work, on the road, and in homes and communities. Every year local entities, organizations, and non-profits use June as a time to educate communities about different safety-related topics. The Williamson County Fire Marshal’s Office is taking advantage of this time to share the following safety tips to help identify risks and hazards at home. With people spending more time at home these days, now is the time to ensure your home is the safest it can be!
