The Williamson County Fire Marshal’s Office operates the Technical Rescue Response Team for Williamson County. The Williamson County Technical Rescue Team is made up of crews from Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Liberty Hill, and Round Rock Fire Departments. These fire departments provide 60 rescue technicians that are on duty every day to provide the residents of Williamson County 24 hours a day, 7 days a week coverage. These fire departments provide personnel and equipment for the team and Williamson County provides, resource coordination as well as providing a Captain and Assistant Chief to oversee the team in a joint effort to provide technical rescue response to the residents of Williamson County. The team is managed by the County Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief and Captain over Special Operations.
The members of the of the team are trained to some of the highest standards in technical rescue including swift-water, high and low angle, trench, structural collapse and wilderness search and rescue techniques. The Williamson County Technical Rescue Teams have access to some of the newest equipment and technology available such as GPS and mapping software, swift-water boats, and rope rescue equipment.
The Williamson County Technical Rescue Team always stands ready to respond to any specialized rescue incident that may occur.
