WarnCentralTexas.org serves as a public portal for residents to register for our Regional Notification System (RNS) and learn about other ways their local communities distribute information in times of emergencies. WarnCentralTexas.org also is being developed as a regional preparedness resource so residents in the ten-county CAPCOG region can find useful information about how they can prepare themselves for emergencies and disasters.

Color LOGO small636691838875950213The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) assists Williamson County in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.  The OEM works year-round with City Departments, regional emergency management and public safety officials, and elected officials to develop a plan to lessen the impact of disasters on County residents. OEM Staff comes from various backgrounds and specializations, and work together in the four areas of emergency management: preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.

County Offices Closed on MLK Jr. Day

County Offices Closed on MLK Jr. Day

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, January 18, in observance of the Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day holiday. While County offices are closed, it is highly recommended that residents consider utilizing the online services that are being offered in various departments. To access the latest information from each department, please visit www.wilco.org.

The next Commissioners Court meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, at 9:30 a.m. in the courtroom on the second floor of the historic courthouse, located at 710 S. Main Street, in Georgetown.  

 The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, located at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will be open on MLK Jr. Day from noon to 6 p.m. The shelter will kick-off an adoption special Friday, January 15, that will run through Monday, January 18. During those dates, large adult dogs and adult cats can be adopted for $3.  All adoptable pets are listed online at http://pets.wilco.org/. Interested adopters should send an email to [email protected] to set up an appointment. The shelter is operating on an appointment-only basis.
