WarnCentralTexas.org serves as a public portal for residents to register for our Regional Notification System (RNS) and learn about other ways their local communities distribute information in times of emergencies. WarnCentralTexas.org also is being developed as a regional preparedness resource so residents in the ten-county CAPCOG region can find useful information about how they can prepare themselves for emergencies and disasters.

Emergency Management

Color LOGO small636691838875950213The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) assists Williamson County in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.  The OEM works year-round with City Departments, regional emergency management and public safety officials, and elected officials to develop a plan to lessen the impact of disasters on County residents. OEM Staff comes from various backgrounds and specializations, and work together in the four areas of emergency management: preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.

County Offices Close at Noon on February 11

Williamson County offices will close at noon today, February 11, 2021, due to inclement weather with deteriorating road conditions. The Office of Emergency Management encourages people not to travel unless it is necessary. Watch for slick road conditions on elevated surfaces. 

The Sun City Vaccine Registration Technical Assistance center will not be open on Friday, February 12, or Monday, February 15. Family Hospital Systems will reschedule vaccination appointments that were scheduled for Monday, February 15, at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. 

Residents are urged to consider utilizing the online services that are being offered in various departments. Williamson County parks are operating under restricted operations through Monday, February 15. For details, visit their web page.  

County Emergency Management officials are in close contact with our partners, including the school districts, the National Weather Service and Road and Bridge Division, regarding current conditions. Each entity is making decisions based on many factors with safety being the top consideration. Please check with your child’s school for the latest information on operations.
