The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo will make its inaugural debut October 21 to 23, 2021, at the Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, in Taylor, Texas. Every night, enjoy carnival rides, games, pig races, petting zoo, food and music. Friday and Saturday feature the rodeo and special entertainment. Williamson County is hosting its annual Learn to Fish Day in the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, located at 3005 CR 175, Leander, Texas on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 8 a.m. to noon.  Children of all ages will be able to spend time learning various fishing tips and techniques from local experts.  The Learn to Fish Day event is free and open to the public. Williamson County’s Learn to Fish Day is funded through the donations of private individuals and corporations.  For more information, please contact the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department at 512-943-1920 or the office of Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long at 512-260-4280.

The Williamson County Parks Department will be upgrading its park reservation and registration software platform, effective Monday, October 4, 2021. During the scheduled upgrade period, the Parks Department will not be accepting reservation requests between 5 p.m. on Monday, September 27, through 8 a.m. on Monday, October 4.

The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering an online “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.  The class will be held via WebEx (online webinar) on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

One of Williamson County’s most popular recreational facilities, the Quarry Splash Pad at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, opens for summer on Saturday, May 29!  The Splash Pad is a unique park situated on approximately two acres that includes water cannons, waterfalls, and water jets, along with a nearby sand play area. There is no standing water and no lifeguard on duty. The splash pad is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an entrance fee of $2 per person.  Credit card payments only are accepted. The Quarry Splash Pad will be open on Memorial Day; however, is usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
