    Take Back Drug Day Oct. 28

    To prevent opioid abuse and accidental overdose, on October 28, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to dispose of controlled and over-the-counter expired and unused prescription drugs. It’s free, safe and convenient. Drive-in, drop-off, no questions asked at several locations throughout Williamson County including the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, 508 Rock Street, Georgetown.

    Grand Opening for WilCo Tennis Center Nov. 4

    Brie Rippner of Rippner Tennis was announced as the new tennis pro and manager of the Tennis Center at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, 3005 C.R. 175, Leander, Texas, effective October 1, 2017. The public is invited to a grand opening of Rippner Tennis on Saturday, November 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event includes refreshments, clinics, doubles mixes, and a pro exhibition. For juniors, there will be clinics and junior play all day.

Family Fun Day Celebrates Seniors

Families of all ages are invited to a free Family Fun Day filled with an afternoon of intergenerational activities held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, in Georgetown.  Family Fun Day will give older adults and kids the opportunity to showcase their talents and teach those skills to younger and older generations. From 1 to 4 p.m., the public is invited to participate in ice cream making, fishing demonstrations, face painting, handcrafts, photo booth, woodworking demonstrations, games, dancing, and more! The Sun City Cloggers will perform in the historic courthouse, and tours of the courthouse will be held at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

Sponsors of the event include Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area, Commissioner Cynthia Long, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, The Williamson Museum, Williamson County and Women Helping Others (WHO).
