Williamson County Under Flash Flood Watch

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will be approaching Central Texas in the evening on Friday, February 3, and move through the area overnight into early Saturday morning...triggering more showers/thunderstorms and bringing the risk of flash flooding... along with some severe weather.  A flash flood watch is in effect for the eastern half of South Central Texas from 8 p.m. Friday night through noon on Saturday.    Rain totals of 1 to 2 inches, isolated 3 plus inches over the eastern half of South Central Texas.  Continue to be aware by watching their website at www.srh.noaa.gov/ewx.  

Williamson County Lifts Burn Ban

On Tuesday, December 13, 2011, the Williamson County Commissioners Court lifted the burn ban for Williamson County.  Citizens should still take safety precautions when conducting outdoor burning, such as the following: 
• Be aware of current weather conditions, i.e. Red Flag Warnings.
• Fires must be attended at all times with a spotter.
• Fires need to be extinguished before dark.
• County residents should report their controlled burn to Williamson County 911 Communications Center at 943-1389 to avoid unnecessary service calls.
