Texas Attorney General Issues
Response on Date New Sheriff Takes Office
October 26, 2004 (Williamson County TX) – Texas Attorney General Greg
Abbott today responded to a request from the Williamson County Attorney’s Office
regarding the date at which the sheriff elected on November 2 would take office.
The Attorney General expedited the usual opinion process by issuing an
answer within two and a half months so that it would be available before the
General Election. The response was not expected until January.
