WILLIAMSON COUNTY EMS SAFETY DAY HELD AUGUST 7

July 22, 2004 (Georgetown, TX) – Children and their parents are invited to a safe day of fun at the Williamson County EMS Safety Day on August 7, 10 a.m to 2 p.m., at the Round Rock I.S.D. Sports Complex, 10211 W. Parmer Lane 1.25 miles north of Hwy. 620.  The event, appropriately titled “It’s All About Kids,” will feature a car seat clinic, a blood mobile and public safety information on Ident-A-Child, the WHALE (We Have A Little Emergency) child seat safety sticker program and more.  A helicopter with Stat Air out of Scott & White in Temple will be displayed as will the popular remote controlled character “Andy the Ambulance.”

“Williamson County Emergency Medical Services is about education to help prevent tragic situations as much as it is about helping when these situations happen,” states EMS Director John Sneed.  “We want to help the citizens become more aware of how to keep their children safe from when they are small enough to ride in a car seat to DWI programs for high school students.”

Williamson County EMS was selected as the 2003 National EMS of the Year by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.  The Williamson County EMS Honor Guard recently was recognized for their participation in the Belton July 4th Parade as the “Best in Walking” category.
