JACK NOBLE APPOINTED COMMISSIONER FOR PRECINCT 3

July 13, 2004 (Georgetown, TX) – Jack Noble, former Georgetown City Council member, was named by Williamson County Judge John Doerfler to fulfill Precinct 3 Commissioner David Hays’ term in Commissioners’ Court today.  Commissioner Hays’ resignation from the Court is effective Thursday, while his term ends December 31.  Jack Noble will be sworn in as Commissioner on Friday, July 16, 10 a.m., in the Commissioners’ courtroom.

“I’ve had many good and qualified people express an interest in this position,” states Judge Doerfler.  “We are just starting our budget discussions, so we needed someone with experience in the government budget process to fill this seat.  Jack Noble has that experience on the Georgetown City Council, as a former city manager and as a former county administrator and budget and finance officer for Martin County, Florida.”

Noble served on the Georgetown City Council for three years from May 2001 to 2004 and also served on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission and the Georgetown Historic Preservation Commission.  Prior to that, he was vice president of project development for Operations Management International (O.M.I.) in Georgetown that handles the city’s water treatment plant.  Prior to joining O.M.I., Noble was the city manager for Stuart, Florida, from 1986 to 1992.  During his tenure there the city was recognized for planning, downtown revitalization and historic preservation.  Noble is a graduate of Texas Christian University.

“It is important that Precinct 3 have representation on the Court particularly during the development of next year’s budget,” notes Noble.  “I am glad to continue to be actively involved in my community by fulfilling the rest of Commissioner Hays’ term,” He also stated that he does plan to step down when his term is completed and a new Commissioner is elected by voters in November.
