      <title>County Exceeds 90% Reporting to DPS</title>
      <link>http://www.wilco.org/CountyDepartments/PublicInformationOffice/NewsandAnnouncements/tabid/714/EntryId/1196/County-Exceeds-90-Reporting-to-DPS.aspx</link>
      <description>The Williamson County District Attorney’s Office recently reported that Williamson County has exceeded the State of Texas’ requirement to report the disposition of at least 90 percent of all criminal cases to the Texas Department of Public Safety.  The Department of Public Safety (DPS) maintains a data base of criminal histories known as CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) for use by law enforcement for all arrested defendants in Texas. This makes it easier for law enforcement to obtain information on individuals while making traffic stops or arrests and provides valuable information related to the safety of officers on the streets.  &lt;br /&gt;
