Current dry conditions make it extremely important that county residents follow basic safety tips when lighting fireworks in unincorporated areas of the county. Always keep a bucket of water or fire extinguisher near while lighting fireworks.

Effective immediately, June 26, 2009, County Judge Dan A. Gattis has instituted a burn ban for all of Williamson County. A person violates this order if he burns any combustible material outside of an enclosure which serves to contain all flames and/or sparks, or orders such burning by others.
