Many of our Gulf Coast neighbors will need assistance following the devastating effects of Hurricane Ike.  Experience has shown the best way to help the response effort is with a financial contribution to an organization that is assisting those in need.
Central Texans who wish to make a financial contribution to the American Red Cross of Central Texas can call 800-REDCROSS or 512-928-4271, send a financial contribution to 2218 Pershing Drive, Austin, 78723 or make a secure on-line donation at www.centex.redcross.org
For local Williamson County donations, the Chisholm Trail Community Foundation manages donations for the Williamson County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). This non-profit group includes representatives from the Georgetown Caring place, Round Rock Service Center, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, faith-based organizations and other similar non-profits. Donations can be sent to them at 116 W. 8th Street, #105, Georgetown, Texas 78626 or online through www.chisholm-trail.org. Look for the VOAD link.
