On Tuesday, August 31, the Williamson County Commissioners Court adopted a tax rate of .489999, the same tax rate as this year. The Court adopted a general fund budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year of $124,355,685.15, which is $496,104.26 less than the current amended budget of $124,851,789.41.

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2010,, for the Labor Day holiday. County offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

The Texas Transportation Commission has approved a $523,000 grant to fund construction of a $653,000 pedestrian bridge over South Brushy Creek near the 183A toll road. The bridge will provide a vital link between the 183A Shared Use Path, which is under construction and the South Brushy Creek Regional Trail.

Effective immediately, August 24, 2010, County Judge Dan A. Gattis has instituted a burn ban for all of Williamson County.
