On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, Williamson County Commissioners Court approved the implementation of a County Burn Ban for a period not to exceed 90 days and to authorize County Judge Dan A. Gattis to lift the ban when conditions improve.

Run Along Brushy Creek Regional Trail at Alan's Hope 5K
Alan’s Hope is hosting the Alan’s Hope Guitars for HOPE 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 16, at 8 a.m., at the Brushy Creek Lake Park, 3300 Brushy Creek Road, in Cedar Park. The event is held in support of National Suicide Prevention Week, September 10 to 16, 2017. The 5K run/walk will feature music along the route on the Brushy Creek Regional Trail and remembrance ribbons for people to wear in honor of those they have lost to suicide. Register online at www.AlansHope.eventbrite.com or the morning of the event starting at 7:15 a.m. for a donation of $15 to cover the cost of the event and t-shirts.

Public Open Houses Scheduled for Corridors Proposed for Study
Williamson County is hosting public open houses to share information and collect input on several corridors proposed for study. The open houses are from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The meetings are an open house format, allowing attendees to come and go at their convenience. There will be no alignments shown at these meetings. The purpose of the open houses is to receive input from the public and identify constraints. We will be using the information you provide at this open house to design the future alignment, so your input is invaluable.  Open house dates can be found here.

Brushy Creek Regional Trail Now Open Following Bridge Upgrades
The portion of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail that was temporarily closed due to upgrades to the railroad bridge by Capital Metro is now open. Trail patrons once again can traverse the trail between Brushy Creek Sports Park and the 183A Trailhead. We thank you for your cooperation and patience while the work was being completed.

Public Invited to Participate in Emergency Planning Surveys
The Williamson County Office of Emergency Management is preparing two community protection plans in the event of floods and wildfires. The public is invited to participate in surveys for each of the plans to provide feedback to the County to help in identifying local values and understanding the general attitudes about the hazards and risks related to flooding and wildfires in the community.
