Entrance Stabilized and New Cover Built for Cave on Cambria Drive

Williamson County is working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to determine the best solution to repair a neighborhood road after a large cave was revealed February 8. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved Williamson County’s plan to stabilize the cave entrance on Cambria Drive and create a new cave cover. The prior cover was a temporary solution to secure the entrance, but was warping and sagging in the wet weather conditions. The new cover is structurally designed to be in place for various weather conditions over several weeks.

Help Stop the Flu

Influenza activity remains high across the state of Texas. The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) urges everyone six months old and older to get vaccinated against the flu. It is particularly important for pregnant women, young children, older adults, and people with chronic health conditions, because people in those groups are at a greater risk of severe complications if they do get the flu. The flu vaccine is available now. Find the closest location here. Other important steps include wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer; cover your coughs and sneezes; stay home if you’re sick; and have a plan to care for sick family members at home.
