Williamson County Citizens Bond Committee Meets March 21

The Citizens Bond Committee will hold its first meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2019 starting at 3:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom of the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown. The purpose of a Williamson County Citizens Bond Committee is to review and analyze the infrastructure needs of Williamson County to determine if the county should consider a bond election in November 2019. The meeting will be recorded and posted to the county’s website so the meeting is available for future viewing. Atmos Energy Creates Website for Georgetown Precautionary Evacuation

Late on Wednesday, Feb. 20, Atmos Energy arrived on scene at 507 River Bend in Georgetown to repair an underground natural gas leak. The Georgetown Fire Department and Atmos Energy issued a precautionary evacuation of several residences and businesses in the River Bend area as a result of the initial leak - which was repaired. County Seeks Input on Five-Year Consolidated Plan

Williamson County is undertaking the development of a Five Year Consolidated Plan (CP) for 2019-2023, as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to determine its priority needs for affordable housing and community development benefiting primarily low- and moderate- income residents. Part of the Consolidated Planning process involves outreach to residents, business owners, and community leaders for input on housing, economic development, and community development needs across the County. You are invited to participate in an online survey by March 31.

Learn to Fish Day is March 30

Williamson County is hosting Learn to Fish Day in the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, located at 3005 CR 175, Leander, Texas on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.  Children of all ages will be able to spend time learning various fishing tips and techniques from local experts.  The Learn to Fish Day event is free and open to the public.

2018 Tax Rate

WILLIAMSON COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.72 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $4.25.
