Open Houses Scheduled to Try New Paper Audit Trail Voting System

When Williamson County voters head to the polls this fall, they will be using new voting equipment that provides a paper audit trail. The new system by Election Systems and Software (ES&S) is a two-step process that allows voters to make selections on an electronic marking device, then provides a printed ballot voters will scan into an electronic tabulator. To help voters become acquainted with the new system, the Elections Department is hosting open houses August 7 to 19 where voters can stop by and use the new system to cast votes for a fictional election in the Land of Oz. The office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 in the Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, will be closed for court personnel training on Friday, July 19, 2019, from noon to 5 p.m. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, July 22, 2019. The public may mail any correspondence, use the drop box located next to the door on the south of the building located at 100 Wilco Way, Georgetown, or pay online at: http://www.wilco.org/JP3. Citation due dates on July 19, 2019, will be extended to July 22, 2019, by 5 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.

The Office of Justice of the Peace Precinct One, 1801 E. Old Settlers Blvd, Ste. 100 in Round Rock, will be closed for court personnel training Monday, July 22, and Tuesday, July 23. The Precinct One Justice of the Peace Office is closed to the public on Wednesdays, so all Civil and Criminal due dates and appearance dates will be extended until Thursday, July 25, 2019. Online credit card payments are accepted on certain cases. To pay on-line, go to www.wilco.org/JP1 . When making a payment online, be sure to maintain your receipt at all times to provide proof of payment.

Tax Office Closure Schedule

The Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector’s offices will be closed July 16 to 18, 2019 on a rotating schedule for staff training. While one office is closed, other office locations will be open regular business hours. The office closure schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, July 16 - Round Rock Tax Office, 1801 E. Old Settlers Boulevard
  • Wednesday, July 17 – Georgetown Tax Office, 904 S. Main Street
  • Thursday, July 18 - Cedar Park Tax Office, 350 Discovery Boulevard, and Taylor Tax Office, 412 Vance Street

Justice of the Peace Offices Closed for Training

Two Williamson County Justice of the Peace offices will be closed for training next week:

The Office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, 350 Discovery Boulevard in Cedar Park, will be closed for court personnel training Tuesday, July 9, through Friday, July 12. All Civil and Criminal due dates and appearance dates will be extended until Tuesday, July 16. Online credit card payments are accepted on certain cases. To pay on-line, go to www.wilco.org/payJP2. When making a payment online, be sure to maintain your receipt at all times to provide proof of payment.

The office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 4, 211 W. 6th Street in Taylor, will be closed for court personnel training on Thursday, July 11, and Friday, July 12, 2019. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, July 15, 2019. The public may mail any correspondence or use the drop box located at the northeast corner facing Sixth Street. Citation due dates during this time will be extended to 5 p.m., July 15, 2019.
