Precinct 1

McNeil Rd, Phase I

This project extends from 330 ft north of SH 45 to Oak Ridge Drive.  Construction included the widening of existing McNeil Road from a 2-lane rural roadway to a 4-lane urban, curb and gutter, roadway.  Drainage improvements included replacing two pipe culverts with concrete box culverts, and replacing an existing box culvert with a 13-barrel box structure.  Improvements included installation of a sidewalk on the west side (to be constructed by the City of Round Rock), asphalt pavement, pavement markings, and signage.  No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on January 29, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use.

McNeil Rd, Phase II

This project extends from ± 338 ft north of the intersection of Howard Lane to ± 425 ft south of SH 45.  Construction will include the widening of existing McNeil Rd from a 2-lane rural roadway to a 4-lane rural roadway.  Drainage improvements include construction of drainage channels adjacent to roadway pavement, box and pipe culverts, installation of asphalt pavement, pavement markings, and signage.  An at-grade railroad crossing with signalization will be constructed in coordination with Capital Metro.  Construction began in January 2006, with an anticipated completion date of December 2006.

Lakeline Blvd

This project extends from Lyndhurst Dr. to 0.11 miles west of Parmer Lane.  It includes the construction of the north two lanes of an ultimate 4-lane divided urban arterial consisting of grading, structures, asphalt paving, signage, and striping.  A 6-ft sidewalk will be constructed along the north side of the project.  The facility will have an urban storm drain system, including detention ponds for water quality. An at-grade railroad crossing with signalization will be constructed in coordination with Capital Metro.  Construction began in November 2006, with an anticipated completion date of June 2007.

O’Connor Extension

This project extends from RM 620 south to SH 45.  The proposed design includes a 4-lane divided, urban facility with a bridge structure spanning Lake Creek and an interchange with the SH 45 Toll Road.  Klotz Associates, Inc. is currently performing the preliminary design, and the project is going through the environmental process. The estimated construction start date is the winter of 2007.

RM 620 Feasibility/Corridor Study

Halff & Associates completed a report providing multiple alternatives for upgrading the existing RM 620 facility.  The report was adopted by Commissioners Court in December 2005. TxDOT is taking the lead in completing the environmental work for the corridor. The County is taking the lead in acquiring the right of way for the project. The City of Round Rock will contribute the construction costs. Halff is currently preparing a proposal to complete interim safety improvements for the addition of turn lanes at select intersections and safety improvements at Liberty Walk and O’Connor.   

Wyoming Springs North – design suspended

This project extends from FM 1431 to Sam Bass Road/Brushy Creek.  Design and construction funding of the project has not been allocated.

Precinct 2

County Road 200

This project extends from CR 201 to Lackey Creek.  Construction included widening and reconstruction of approximately 1.5 miles of CR 200, improving roadside drainage, and upgrading existing crossings.  Construction was complete on September 26, 2003.  This roadway is open for public use.

County Road 214

This project extends from FM 1869 to Rolling Hills Rd, a distance of 1.3 miles.  The project consisted of two segments:  an upgrade of the existing 2-lane rural roadway to a 3-lane urban facility from FM 1869 to SH 29; and improvements to the existing 2-lane rural section from SH 29 to Rolling Hills Rd., including the intersection at SH 29.  Construction included asphalt pavement, storm sewer, curb and gutter, signage, and pavement markings.  No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on February 21, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use.

County Road 175

This project extends from south of FM 1431 to just north of the Williamson County Regional Park, a total distance of 1.6 miles.  Construction included widening the existing 2-lane rural section to a 4-lane divided urban section with a raised median.  At both the north and south ends of the project, the pavement transitions back to the existing 2-lane pavement.  Construction was complete on June 16, 2003.  This roadway is open for public use.  Landscaping improvements for the corridor are substantially complete.

County Road 175 North Extension

This project extends the completed CR 175 improvements to FM 2243.  The proposed design matches the existing 4-lane divided urban section with raised median to the intersection of CR 176 and CR 177. The remaining segment to FM 2243 will be the interim reconstruction of the existing 2-lane rural section, with the addition of shoulders and a realignment of the intersection at FM 2243.  The project is currently being designed by Haynie Consulting, Inc. with an estimated design completion date of August 2007.

SH 29 @ FM 1869

This project included the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of SH 29 and FM 1869.  Construction was complete on August 20, 2002.  The signal is in use.

Riverbend Oaks Subdivision

This project included the reconstruction and drainage improvements of the roadway facilities within the Riverbend Oaks Subdivision.  Construction was completed in April 2003.  All roadway improvements are open for public use.

Ronald Reagan Blvd, South Phase I (FKA Parmer Lane South, Phase I or Segment 1)

This project extends from FM 1431 to FM 2243.  It included the construction of a new 4.2 mile 4-lane divided rural roadway.  The facility consists of twin bridge structures across Brushy Creek, storm drains, asphalt pavement, storm water treatment ponds, retaining walls, pavement markings, signage and traffic signals.  Three major changes were implemented during the construction of this roadway.  The first provided for the widening of FM 2243 with the addition of a left turn lane approaching the Ronald Reagan Blvd intersection in each direction.  The second provided for the addition of two traffic signals, one at the intersection of FM 1431 and the other at the intersection of FM 2243.  The last major change included the addition, revision or modification to driveways, in order to maintain access to property owners located adjacent to Ronald Reagan Blvd.  Construction was complete on January 1, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use.

Ronald Reagan Blvd, South Phase II (FKA Parmer Lane South, Phase II or Segment 2)

This project extends from FM 2243 to 0.5 miles North of SH 29.  It includes the construction of a 4.1 mile 4-lane divided rural roadway.  The facility will consist of drainage culverts, asphalt pavement, twin bridge structures over the San Gabriel River, pavement marking, and signage, including the installation of a traffic signal at SH 29.  The project will also include the construction of a “ring road” to provide adjacent property owners alternative access to Reagan Blvd. and SH 29, once existing CR 268 has been abandoned.  Construction began in January 2006. This project is being construction by Ranger Excavation and has an anticipated completion date of September 2007.

Ronald Reagan Blvd, North Phase I (FKA Parmer Lane North, Phase I or Segment 3)

This project extends from SH 29 to FM 3405.  It includes the construction of a 4.4 mile interim 2-lane rural roadway facility.  It consists of asphalt pavement, storm drains, multiple bridge structures, drainage culverts, pavement marking, and signage,.  Construction began on April 22, 2005.  This project is being constructed by Chasco Contracting, and has a scheduled completion date of December 2006.

County Road 179

This project extends from Ronald Reagan Blvd. to CR 175.  The project design includes the reconstruction of the existing 2-lane rural facility, with the addition of shoulders, drainage improvements and a bridge crossing at Brushy Creek.  The project design has been completed by K. Friese & Associates.  A proposed realignment of the CR 179 approach to the CR 175 is being analyzed.  Construction funding for the project has not been allocated.

County Road 258

This project extends from US 183 to Sunset Ridge, approximately 1.3 miles. The roadway improvements consisted of the reconstruction of the the existing 2-lane rural facility with the addition of shoulders and drainage improvements,, pavement markings and signage.  Construction was complete on October 5, 2006.  This roadway is open for public use.

San Gabriel Parkway (County Road 274), Phase I

This project extends from Halsey Dr. to the proposed CR 273 extension.  This project provides for the construction of two lanes of the ultimate 4-lane design.  Phase I will construct the two northern lanes, providing interim two-way traffic on the ultimate westbound side.  It includes the construction of a 1.6 mile 2-lane urban roadway facility with 12-ft travel lanes and an 8-ft wide shoulder on the westbound side.  Approaching US 183, the roadway will also include a 14-ft wide center turn lane.  Grove Lane and Halsey drive will both consist of two 11-ft travel lanes with 4-ft shoulders on each side.  Construction will include waterline encasement, drainage culverts, pavement markings, and signage.  Construction began in May 2006 by J.C. Evans Construction, with a scheduled completion date of January 2007.  The US 183 widening improvements, adding a left turn lane at the San Gabriel Pkwy intersection, will be completed as a separate project in conjunction with the Phase I improvements.

San Gabriel Parkway (County Road 274), Phase II

This project extends the San Gabriel Pkwy Phase I project from the proposed CR 273 extension to CR 270.  The roadway section will match Phase I, providing for the construction of the northern two lanes of the ultimate westbound section.  A construction start date for the facility has been suspended indefinitely, pending resolution of historical site issues.

County Road 152 Bridge Replacement @ Dry Berry Creek

This project extended along CR 152 from approximately 350 feet southwest of the Dry Berry Creek Bridge to approximately 550 feet northeast of the Dry Berry Creek Bridge, a total distance of 1,300 feet.  It involved the replacement of an existing low water crossing at Dry Berry Creek with a 2-lane bridge structure.  Construction also included the widening and resurfacing of the existing roadway approaches, construction of driveways, pavement marking, and signage. No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on September 13, 2004.  This roadway is open for public use.

Cedar Breaks Road – Now named D.B. Wood (AKA Georgetown Inner Loop – Segment 1)

This project extends from 300 feet south of Middle Fork San Gabriel River to FM 2338, a distance of 2.7 miles.  The existing roadway over the Georgetown Dam was demolished and replaced with a new 2-lane undivided roadway facility.  Construction also included a 1,484-ft bridge that spans the North Fork of the San Gabriel River.  Construction was complete on September 17, 2004.  This roadway is open for public use.

D.B. Wood Road (AKA Georgetown Inner Loop – Segment 2)

This project extends from SH 29 north to the Middle Fork of the San Gabriel River, a distance of 1.1 miles.  Construction involved removal and reconstruction of the existing D.B. Wood Roadway within the project limits, excluding the bridge over the Middle Fork of the San Gabriel River.  The facility improvements included the construction of a 5-lane rural roadway with asphalt pavement, mailbox replacements, drainage culverts, pavement markings, and signage.  One major change was implemented during the construction of this roadway.  Due to additional traffic volumes related to the DB Wood Road Project, the change provided for the addition of 400 feet of roadway and driveway entrances south of SH 29 to provide alternative access for the property owners along  the south side of SH 29.  A traffic signal was also installed at the intersection to address the increase in traffic volumes.  Construction was complete on June 5, 2003.  This roadway is open for public use.

D.B. Wood Road Extension (AKA Georgetown Inner Loop – Segment 3)

This project extends from SH 29 to FM 2243.  The alignment study was completed in January 2002 and the project design and construction is a proposed project under the 2006 Road Bond Program.

Georgetown Inner Loop Segment/Project 4 (FM 2243 to IH 35)

This project extends from FM 2243 to IH 35.  The alignment study was completed in January 2002, and the project design and construction is a proposed project under the 2006 Road Bond Program.

Georgetown Inner Loop East

This project extends from SH 29 to FM 971, a total of 2.0 miles.  The project involved new construction of a 2-lane roadway facility with shoulders, and an 815-foot bridge crossing over the San Gabriel River.  Construction included excavation and embankment, drainage culverts, pavement markings, and signage.  A traffic signal was also installed by TxDOT at the intersection of SH 29 and Inner Loop to address the increase in traffic volumes.  Construction was complete on June 13, 2004.  This roadway is open for public use.

Georgetown Inner Loop East Extension

This project extends Georgetown Inner Loop East from 0.02 miles south of CR 151 to Business 35.  This section of the project involved the construction of a new 2-lane, undivided roadway with shoulders.  Construction included asphalt pavement, drainage culverts, pavement markings, and signage, and the installation of a traffic signal at BUS 35.  The project further extends on Business 35 from 0.05 miles south of Georgetown Inner Loop to 0.07 miles north of Industrial Park Circle.  This section of the project included new pavement markings and signage on Business 35.  Construction was complete on October 22, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use.

Ronald Reagan Blvd, North Phase II (FKA Parmer Lane North, Phase II or Segment 4)

This project extends from FM 3405 to RM 2338; a total project length of 5.3 miles.  The design includes two lanes of the ultimate 4-lane divided facility, multiple bridge structures, and widening improvements at the intersections of FM 3405 and FM 2338 for the addition of left turn lanes.  This project has been awarded to J.C. Evans Construction.  Construction is anticipated to begin in January 2007 with a scheduled completion dated of August 2008. 

Ronald Reagan Blvd, North Phase III (FKA Parmer Lane North, Phase III or Segment 5)

This project extends from RM 2338 to SH 195.  The roadway is currently under design by Stanley & Associates as part of a Development Agreement with the County.  Both design and construction will be funded by the Developer, with the County participating in a portion of the right of way acquisition.

Ronald Reagan Blvd, North Phase IV (FKA Parmer Lane North, Phase IV or Segment 6)

This project extends from SH 195 to IH-35.  To date, only preliminary design work has been completed on the project. Final design and construction of the project is funded under the 2006 Road Bond Program.

Bridge Replacement Package I (CR 406, CR 390, CR 427)

This project involved the replacement of three wooden bridge crossings at CR 406, CR 390, and CR 427.  The wooden structures at each location were replaced with multiple barrel concrete box culverts to improve the safety conditions of the existing roadway. No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on November 22, 2002.  These bridges are open for public use.

County Road 424 Wooden Bridge Replacement

This project was located on County Road 424 at Turkey Creek.  Construction involved the replacement of an existing timber bridge with a multiple barrel concrete box culvert, and reconstruction of the roadway approaches.  No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on January 6, 2004.  This bridge and roadway are open for public use.

County Road 412

This project extends from FM 619 to CR 421, a distance of 3.4 miles.  Improvements involved reconstruction and widening the existing 2-lane facility to a constant lane width of 12 feet with 4-ft shoulders on both sides.  Construction also included asphalt pavement, cross-culverts, driveway culverts, roadside drainage ditches, mailbox replacements, signage, and pavement markings.  This was the first project in the Road Bond Program to utilize Geogrid reinforcement material in the pavement section. The Geogrid was added during the construction stages as a method to stabilize the expansive subgrade materials of eastern Williamson County.  Construction was complete on August 27, 2003.  This roadway is open for public use.

County Road 368 & 369

This project extends along CR 369 from CR101 to CR 366 and along CR 368 from its intersection with CR 369 approximately 1.1 miles north.  The net length of this project is 4.3 miles.  Construction involved the reconstruction of CR 368 and CR 369E to two12-ft travel lanes with a 2-ft shoulder on each side, as well as the reconstruction of CR 369W to two 10-ft travel lanes with a 2-ft shoulder on each side.  Construction also included the installation of drainage culverts, application of a two-course aggregate surface treatment, mailbox replacements, pavement marking, and signage.  Final construction of the project included an asphalt overlay in addition to the aggregate surface treatment.  This roadway is open for public use.

County Road 300/301

This project included paving improvements on CR 300 from FM 972 south 1.305 miles, a bridge replacement at the intersection of CR 300 and CR 301, and safety improvements including pavement markings and signing at the y-intersection of CR 300 and CR 326.  The net project length is 1.737 miles.  No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on January 10, 2004.  This roadway is open for public use.

Chandler Road, Phase I

This project extends 2,401 feet west of 1460 east to CR 110, a total length of 2.7 miles.  Construction west of FM 1460 includes a 5-lane, curb and gutter roadway with two 12-ft east bound travel lanes, two 12-ft west bound travel lanes, and a 14-ft center turn lane.  East of FM 1460, the roadway transitions to a 2-lane undivided facility with 12-ft travel lanes and an 8-ft shoulder on each side.  Construction included earthwork, grading, drainage structures, asphalt pavement, obliterating a portion of the existing Chandler Rd. alignment, pavement marking, and signage.  No major changes were implemented during the course of construction.  Construction was complete on March 26, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use. TxDOT is planning a future traffic signal installation at the intersection of Chandler Rd. and FM 1460.

Chandler Road, Phase II

This project extends Chandler Rd. Phase I from CR 110 to FM 1660, a total distance of 5.0 miles.  It includes new construction of a 2-lane undivided roadway with 12-ft travel lanes and an 8-ft shoulder on each side.  Construction will include earthwork, drainage structures, asphalt pavement, pavement marking, and signage.  The facility will also include an overpass at SH 130, comprised of a 76-ft,bridge spanning Chandler Rd. over the SH 130 Toll Road, constructed by TxDOT.  Construction of Chandler Road began in September 2006. This project is being constructed by Rodman Construction and has an anticipated completion date of November 2007.

handler Road, Phase 3A

This project extends from FM 1660 to CR 368/369, a distance of approximately 3.1 miles. The design section includes an interim 2-lane facility to match the section currently under construction, with an ultimate design plan for a 4-lane divided section. To date, only preliminary design work has been completed on the project; final design and construction is funded under the 2006 Road Bond Program.

Chandler Road, Phase 3B

This project extends from Phase 3A from CR 368/369 to SH 95, a distance of approximately 4.0 miles. The design section includes an interim 2-lane facility to match the section currently under construction, with an ultimate design plan for a 4-lane divided section. To date, only preliminary design work has been completed on the project; final design and construction is funded under the 2006 Road Bond Program.

County Road 138

This project extends from FM 685 to CR 137.  To date, only a preliminary design study has been completed by Halff & Associates.  Final design and construction funding of the project has not been allocated.

County Road 112, Phase I

This project extends from Chandler Rd. to just east of FM 1460, a total distance of 1.5 miles.  A 4-lane divided urban section with a raised median was constructed extending approximately 1,000 feet south from existing Chandler Rd., adjacent to the Texas State University area campus.  From the urban section, the project transitions to a 2-lane rural facility, which continues to the FM 1460 intersection.  The project again transitions to a divided roadway through FM 1460, and then back to a 2-lane section where it ties back into existing CR 112 approximately 1,500 feet east of the FM 1460 intersection.  The project consisted of new roadway construction, drainage structures, signing and pavement markings.  This project utilized Geogrid reinforcement material as part of the pavement section to address expansive subgrade conditions experienced during the construction stages.  Construction was complete on August 31, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use.

County Road 112, Phase II

This project extends from FM 1460 to CR 110.  To date, only preliminary design work has been completed.  Final design and construction funding for the project has not been allocated.

Bridge Replacement Package II (CR 351)

Multiple design alternatives have been developed for the replacement of the structure. Final design and construction funding for the project has not been allocated.

Hutto Bypass, Phase 1A

This project extends along CR 119 from the US 79 at FM 685 to existing CR 164, and includes the extension of CR 164 east to1,500 beyond the CR 132 intersection.  The total length of the project is 4.9 miles. Existing CR 119 was upgraded from a 2-lane rural facility to include a continuous center turn lane and shoulders. The new segment of CR 164 was a 3-lane section with a continuous turn lane and shoulders. The project also includes ditch improvements along CR 132 and the Hanson Outfall.  Construction was complete on July 7, 2006.  This roadway is open for public use.

Hutto Bypass, Phase 1B

This project extends from SH 130 to CR 119, a total length of 1.5 miles.  The proposed design includes the reconstruction of existing CR 164 from CR 119 to CR 108, the extension of CR 164 from CR 108 to SH 130, and the reconstruction of existing CR 109 (as CR 164) west of SH 130 to Haybarn Lane. The new roadway will be a 3-lane section with a continuous center turn lane and shoulders east of SH 130.  The construction will also include an at-grade interchange design with the SH 130 Toll Road and the construction of the CR 109 Spur Road at SH 130. The construction contract has been awarded to Cash Construction, with an anticipated to start date of December 2006 and a scheduled completion date of August 2007.

Hutto Bypass, Phase 1C Schematic

This project extends from CR 110 to Haybarn Lane.  The schematic design has been completed by Pate Engineers and the right of way and easement acquisitions are underway. Jonah Water is currently underway with the installation of a new 16" water line along the proposed roadway improvements. Final design of the project is at the 60% stage. Construction funding of the project has not been allocated.

County Road 137

This project extends from 2,200 feet south of CR 138 (which is at the Williamson County Line) to FM 1660, a total project length of 2.2 miles.  The project does not include any improvements to the bridge at Brushy Creek.  Construction includes widening the existing facility to a standard 2-lane undivided roadway facility with 12-ft travel lanes and 4-ft shoulders on each side, a partial new alignment, ditch and drainage culvert improvements, asphalt pavement, signage, and pavement markings.  Construction was complete on October 20, 2005.  This roadway is open for public use.

Arterial A, Phase 1

The project limits extend from Joe DiMaggio Blvd. to Forest Creek Drive, a length of approximately 1 mile, and includes the interchange at US 79 and Union Pacific railroad being completed by TxDOT. The design includes the interim 3-lane construction of an ultimate 6-lane facility being developed in coordination with the City Round Rock. The project’s right of way will accommodate future development of pedestrian facilities including sidewalks, hike and bike trails.  SD Kallman Engineering is currently working on the design plans, with an estimated design completion date of October 2007.

Arterial A, Phase 2

The project limits extend from Forest Creek Drive to Gattis School Road, a length of approximately 1 mile. The design schematic includes the interim 3-lane construction of an ultimate 6-lane facility being developed in coordination with the City Round Rock. The project’s right of way will accommodate future development of pedestrian facilities including sidewalks, hike and bike trails.  SD Kallman Engineering is currently working on the schematic design development, with an estimated schematic completion date of August 2007.

BUS 79 (Taylor)

This project includes the reconstruction, widening and drainage improvements for US 79 through Taylor from W. 2nd St. to Main St. (SH 95), a length of approximately 1.5 miles. Improvements will include widening to a 5-lane section with the addition of a center turn lane, improve drainage to alleviate flooding, installation of curb and gutter and sidewalk, and the replacement of water and wastewater utilities.

US 79 Projects

Section 1 (McNutt Creek to FM 685):  The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will design, fund, and construct this section.  County will complete the Environmental Assessment and the Right of Way maps/field notes.  

Section 2 (FM 685 to East Hutto City Limit, through town):  No work is currently scheduled.  The County will fund the design and construction at a later date.  

Section 4 (west to Taylor Loop East):  No work is scheduled under the current Road Bond Program.  The County will fund the design and construction at a later date.
