To provide some financial relief to flood victims, Williamson County and Waste Management are offering waived or reduced fees at the Williamson County Landfill through the end of September.
Waste Management has offered free pull-off services (normally $25) and waived the $10 safety vest fee for residential customers bringing debris to the Williamson County Landfill as of Friday, September 10. These discounted services are offered through the end of September. Although the fee is waived, all customers still are required to wear a safety vest when disposing of waste.
Waste Management extended the landfill hours on Saturdays until 2 p.m. (normally closes at noon).
In addition, Waste Management is accepting car loads and pick-up truck loads of clean wood waste at no charge. Trailer loads of clean wood waste will be discounted by 50 percent or $2.75/cubic yard (normally $5.50/cubic yard).
Waste Management also will offer a discounted rate of $25 (normally $40) for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or other white goods brought to the landfill during the month of September.   Only emptied refrigerators and freezers will be accepted (all food items must be removed).
Waste Management will continue to enforce the following fees:
  • Tarp Fee of $25 for any loads that enter the landfill without being properly tarped and/or covered. Properly covering truck/trailer loads of debris is important to prevent accidental litter and highway hazards.
  • Tire fees will also be enforced.
In addition, the Williamson County Commissioners Court voted to waive the county’s fees and surcharges for residential customers bringing in their own waste through the end of September.
Below are the special Flood Disposal rates:
·         Car load: $15
·         Pick-Up Trucks (all sizes): $25
·         All trailers with debris: $30.50/ton
All customers will have to pay a $1.25/ton TCEQ fee and fuel surcharges that change weekly.
The reduced flood disposal rates and services are for Williamson County residential customers. Proof of residency is required. Commercial haulers are not eligible for these discounted rates.
